(click on chart for larger image)The Jellinek curve was developed by E. Morton Jellinek as a result of extensive research on the phenomenon of alcoholism. Jellinek is credited with many advancements in the field as well as this chart of the progression of the disease and recovery. Click on the chart for a larger image which you can then use as a tool for your own self examination, particularly with regard to Step 1 of AA's 12 steps. Starting on the left and going down, reflect on how many of these symptoms you have experienced.
